We are proud of what we have achieved and where we are heading. Here’s how the Rodericks journey began…

Dentistry has always been our business and we are immensely proud of our history. In fact, the association between two of our directors, Shalin Mehra and Steve Brookes, goes as far back as 1984, when they were young dentists working together in Northampton. Even then, the need for first class dental services within the NHS was evident.

When they became practice partners in 1990, Shalin and Steve were determined that first class dental services should not be an aspiration, but an expectation. In 1991 they were approached by a group of GP’s with a view to setting up dental services. They considered this as an opportunity to bring excellent dentistry to the NHS and they accepted the challenge. Within just a couple of years they had developed a successful and popular three-surgery practice caring for 4000 patients.

Shortly after, they were approached again, this time by a group of GP’s in Abington Northampton, and using the skills and experience gained from their first project, they quickly built up a second successful practice for 6000 patients. Both dentists were involved in the planning and development of these premises to ensure they met the needs of dentists, staff and patients. This hands-on approach in the running of our company continues to this day. Alpesh Khetia and Carlos Clark later joined the team as NHS dentistry entered a new era in England.

2006 saw the introduction of a new NHS contract for dentistry and a period of great change within the profession. Many dentists decided to withdraw from the NHS and provide only private services, but our directors were determined that excellent dentistry should remain available through the NHS. We therefore continued as an NHS service provider and decided to grow the group rapidly through tendering for new NHS services.

Today, we are proud to operate more than 70 high quality, modern NHS dental practices all over the country. We have very exciting plans to grow our estate further so more patients can receive excellent oral care from our excellent practice teams.
